I recently replaced the pickups in my guitar and I have to recommend these pickups to ANYONE with a Strat. Great thick tones, lots of options, and the best part is they are (yes it's true) Noiseless. Not like other "noiseless" pickups these things are dead quiet. www.kinman.com
helped my quest for tone in big ways

Which ones do you have?
I am getting the AVn Blues, and I can't wait to listen to them. I've heard wonderful things about those pickups, and I am ordering them for a Melancon Vintage Artist.

Yeah, I love my Kinmans too. I got the 'Classic' set which is '56 in neck and middle and '59 (slightly more output than '62 from Traditional set) in the neck. Great tone, fat and warm and clear and balanced and beeeutiful!

personally, I dig Fralins.Seem to be a little more "clear" and true than kinmans to me.

I agree 100% I put my Fralins against someone's Kinmans and the Fralins are way more organic sounding.

I have heard that Fralins are excellent, but to me the Kinmans offer two things Fralins don't: absence of hum and noise, and even cooler, very long sustain for a strat due to the low gauss magnets he uses. The thing with Kinmans, adjusting the pickup height dramatically alters the tone, and for me they sound best further from the strings, very good traditional tones. You can put them up very close to the strings (again b/c of the low pull magnets) for higher output but to me they sound bad like this. Bottom line is either set is a hell of a lot better than my stock American Standard p'ups. Just my $.02 (more like .04)

Got my guitar today. I am impressed by the Kinman pickups. They are dead quiet, and produce some really nice, warm sounds. Amazing pickups.
