I thinking on buying some evidence cables. I am wondering which people bought evidence cables and which model/type of cabel did they end up choosing and why.
I've used a Lyric HG many times. I have a buddy who has almost ALL the boutique cables and he has me try them out on gigs and recording work. It's a great cable. You'll "notice" the difference more when you're just playing by yourself. If you have an overly "bright" rig you'll notice some upper highend roll-off (in a good way, IMO) when you play with a band or do a session. It's not overly "hard" or tight sounding as some of the boutique cables can be. Super well made. Easily rolled up. Doesn't attarct too much stage dirt and grime. I might actually buy one or two of these as they've as they sounded like they do something when it counts, ie; playing a gig. Many of them don't, or even sound and/or feel bad in gig applications.
My main cable from guitar to pedal is a Evidence HG all my other interconnects are regular Evidence except between pedals I still use George L's for cutting to length. The HG is a great sounding cable the only minor thing is it's pretty stiff.

I have a Evidence Melody 12 footer, and it's a great sounding cable. Very full and balanced sounding, with seemingly more signal strength than some others I've tried. I'm using it between guitar and pedalboard right now. It's reasonably flexible, and the fabric coating is nice.
I think I'm gradually going to replace my other cables (pedalboard interconnects, board to amp, and effects loop send/return) with the Melody. It's too expensive to do all at once, for me at least.

Instrument cable wise, I have both the Lyric and Lyric HG. The Lyric tends to be a little fuller in the bass to my ears. Both cables share a very good punch in the low frequencies, good string separation and also extremely musical highs. I find that both are reasonably "well-behaved" on stage in terms of coiling/tangling etc. and the sound benefits have DEFINITELY out-weighed any inconvenience there compared to thinner more flexible generic cable.
I use the Siren apeaker cable too which exhibits a very similar punchy separated sound and am very glad I bought the Source power cable too. Saying that often sparks a heated discussion on line, (which I never bother to enter in to - I like my tone better with it than without... YMMV), but anyone who is open-minded about their tone should jump at the chance to plug one into their fave amps.
Lots of people ask which is the "best" cable to start with (guitar to effects, effects to board, speaker, power..?) which is a good question indeed. I would get one Lyric or Lyric HG to start with and A/B it with my current cable both straight into the amp and also with the rest of my rig. If you hear a difference and like the difference too then go piece by piece as funds allow. I myself went Lyrics for git>board and board>amp, then speaker cable, then patch cables for my board (BIG difference) and finally power cord. Every change made and incremental improvement.
Chrissy.....what cable to tame a bright amp....Lyric, or Lyric HG? And I play in a cover band that plays everything from SKA to straight-up Drop-D metal..
Thanks

I'm using the Lyric Hgs for all my long runs and I echo Chrissy's thoughts on the tonal enhancements...the Hgs seem to have less handling noise than the regular lyrics which can sound almost a bit microphonic...probably due to the spectraflex-like jacket covering the cable...
I am also using patch cables made up of regular Lyrics and Lyric Hgs and am using the Source power cables which mysteriously make my amps sounds tighter...punchier and fuller/bolder sounding...
everywhere in my chain that I have inserted these cables I have noticed a big improvement in the form of a tighter bass end...better string serparation and very sweet highs...love the very even tonal balance...

I actually find the highs equally pleasant on both. I think whether you perceive it to be taming or adding highs will depend on what sort of cable you are using now, if you see what I mean. I don't hear any attenuation of the highs myself, but I think the high end is very very musical. Not sure if that answer helps...
If you are gonna be playing dropped D sometimes then I think you'll like the HG better as it has less handling noise as Seegs mentioned.
Being one of his custom shops, I use the Lyric HG as is the most balanced, defined cable I have ever played through. It sounds great with my Fuchs TDS 50, especially after I added the Siren speaker cable as well.

Mornin' Lava Man, I was really thinking of maybe getting Evidence Cables but they are not easy to get in Germany... So I use at the moment the following cables which I could find here:
guitar>pedalboard - Klotz LaGrange 18 ft. pedalboard and pb>amp- George L's speaker - VoVox
Because you are having most of these cables in your shop: Are the Evidence cables really that magical and would they do a "worthy" difference to my actual setup? (I checked once Chrissy's Siren speaker cable which made a huge difference to my cheap cable at this time. Couldn't get one so I bought the VoVox which is great too.)

I'm using Planet Waves right now, and want to step up.

The Evidence is a clear step up from the Klotz, and would make a "worthy" diffrence in your set up. I do ship to Germany...

Thanx Lava Man, I'll think about it. At the moment no need to send it to Germany - I will be in the US the next 2 weeks. Maybe I'll give you a call then.
I use the Lyric HG guitar cable and had Tony make me custom lengths for my pedalboard. Definitely an improvement over Monster (the high-end ones) and George L's, both of which I A/B'd extensively with the Lyric HG. Very happy with them.
