OK, boyz & girlz; this is probably the best point-to-point hand-wired US-made (in Texas, how cool is that?) tube amp available today fer under a grand. Heck, it's probably the best tube gtr amp fer under three grand! Maybe five? Could be! I dunno what you play thru, all's I know is I LOVE this amp! This Hawkins Fighting C*ck 18 watt monster, w/ 2 EL84 power tubes, 2 12AX7 preamp tubes, a very effective half-power switch, 8 and 16 ohm speaker "outs", and a series "100% wet" FX loop (fer my Line 6 MM4 Modulation Modeler used as a tremolo pedal). I love this amp! And the guys at Hawkins (Chad Hawkins & co.) worked w/ me every step of the way, making my dream amplifier come true. I even picked out the purple tolex/knobs/plexi (dig the graphics of the two fighting c*cks). To top it all off is my 1959 LP reissue ESP-made Edwards w/ Seymour Dunc's (a JB and a '59er) and my custom-built (by Me!) Squier Master Series Tele, w/ Rio Grande Bastard and Fat Bastard p/u's, a Gibson Les Paul wiring harness (500k pots), switchcraft p/u switch & 1/4" input... Heck, these are great gtrs, their electronics just suck HARD. Replace the p/u's and wiring, and these make fer a killer light chambered Tele body w/ set-neck that I'd put up against any other Korean gtr out there today, including the Reverends. I picked this up new, just after Squier/Fender discontinued these about a year ago fer $199 (ebay), got the p/u's used on ebay fer another hundred, then paid $50 fer the wiring harness & switchcraft goodies. So, in closing; $350 fer the greatest gtr I've ever slung around my pointed lil head! Buy every one of these Master Series Tele's you can find, they'll be huge collectors' items some day! I wanna get a Thinline in gloss black next, and do the same thing (Rio Grande, etc) but use gold hardware. Yeah, baby!

Cheers!

PS: Did I mention the only pedal I need to use on the Hawkins front end is a DOD Corrosion pedal? And even that is used very very VERY sparingly? Yep, I love this Hawkins, and it sounds so ALIVE up front on it's own, I can put all those classic Ibanez-styled OD pedals on ebay, baby! This is the last amp I will EVER own! Any other amps I buy will be purely for investment purposes ONLY. I predict in 10 yrs people will write about Hawkins like the write about Trainwreck today. Mark my words!
