Thats usually the only interesting thing about

Xiu Xiu. The weirdness makes you wonder where

a song is going. . .overall I dont really like

XX. . .I prefer a nice melody. In the same

vein I do like Smog. . .I find Bill Callahan's

work more easy to enjoy. Cool (because its

way better) Smog is great LoFi. Cool

I don't really know Smog.

I read some Smog lyrics recently though and liked 'em.

Will check.

album I think. . .its actually a tie between

Wild Love and Talk Talk. Cool

I read a really nice lyric about...ah f.uck it, I'll find it!

Here:

"See because alone in my room
I feel like such a part of the community
But out on the streets
I feel like a robot by the river"

You bet.

Infectious melodies like theirs are guaranteed to get feet tapping.

Who knows? they may one day shift as many units as Deerhoof. Eek

Who knows?

With this new-found 'Google' contraption of yours, you might one day discover a band doing something even more innovative than the Mock Turtles?

Eek

Google shmoogle. I happen to know of a band that are so innovative they can't even get a support slot on the local toilet circuit and nobody will listen to their demo past the opening bar.

You have to be really 'with it' to know about them.

Cool Cool Cool

Not really. We're going wrong somewhere. We write songs, with tunes, and you can like, listen to them, and people like, clap when we finish playing them.

I guess our innovative days are long gone... Frown

There could be hope for us yet, though. Our drummer dropped a guitar case down a flight of stairs at the studio last week. We all thought that sounded terribly innovative.

Unfortunately the tape wasn't running at the time...

Not really. We just unspooled the master, crumpled it up and ran a powerful magnet over it.

Now it sounds way more innovative. Cool
