instead of my Tascam....has been a new adventure for me...I set up so I can finally monitor my PC as I record, which given my equipment, was no small feat!...but anyway, I have been dickin' with this approach (well, yesterday actually ), and it is different than the 4 trax approach I am used to...

one thing for sure, the notion of knowing you have but 4 tracks to lay down before the 'song' begins to 'muddy up' with excessive analog layering and the hiss thAT starts creeping in...is no longer an issue.
used to be..when I start with a stupid simpleton bass line as the song signature, I would know the 'end' pretty much in me head, well, sort of...I only got another three decent sounding tracks (generally speaking, I know I can mixdown the analog tape, and add moree tracks...but it does tend to loss fidelity when you do this -- damn it!) to finish the tune in...

I just laid down an 8 trax 'song'.
It is only a minute long, a groove - no more.
But it was such a hoot to NOT have to think about it as anything other than just, "Hmmm...maybe I should stick a 'bong sucking sound here', or steal a Bowie riff and put it there... (went with the bowie theft, fyi)

oh my soul.
I know...I am easily amused.

I must remember -- the mixdown is my ENEMY! I never want to make THAT decision! NO NO! I CHANGED MY MIND!!!!

oh, let's not get into the file saving issue...

is there some book I can get with professional file names?..I am tired of my amatuerish Larry1..or JeffyPeffy2...

I need some PRO sounding save files as names...

heck, I cant be bothered.
