The trem should get here soon, but as Jeff pointed out, I picked up the Micro Vibe for $109 + tax last night at HAMC. This has easily become one of my favorite vibe pedals...the other two being the Sweet Sound Ultra Vibe and the vibe on my CC-2. Now here's the skinny... The Sweet Sound is lush and very deep sounding...it's also fairly easy to use...but sometimes it's too deep for general use. You turn it on and you get that Hendrix and Trower tone...and that's great if that's all you want to do. For my needs it lacks versatility...but what it does it does better than anything out there. The vibe on the CC-2 is perfect for what I like to do. It can also get you the traditional sounds like the Sweet Sound, but the vibe is a lot more versatile. At $400 it's pricey, but when you consider the fact that it's attached to an amazing Fuzz and octavia clone, all the effects work well together, it's bonehead simple to use and it's built like a tank, ponying up the cashola becomes less an issue. The Voodoo Labs Micro Vibe isn't as lush as these other vibes, but it is still very lush. It is probably the most versatile of the three (which is what I needed for Taikonaut). I can get a great phaser tone by backing the speed off and some great fast vibrato tones. Crank the intensity up and you get all the depth one is likely to need. It won't make you sound like Hendrix or Trower, but it will get you part way there. Chances are if you are looking to create your own unique sounds and you occasionally would like to get a nice vibrato sound this may be your pedal. With just two knobs it really doesn't get any easier to use. It's a very small footprint for a vibe and it can be had for a song (no pun intended). I'm very happy with it. I would suggest if you are looking for a vibe you consider the CC-2 or the Micro Vibe depending on your budget and whether or not you would like a nice fuzz and octave pedal. thank you very much ..the CC2 is...such a fucking K/A trio that you know I am a fan...a BIG fan, but I got ALOT of that stuff already (fuzz?..silicon or germanium, I got both...octave I have on the tone machine clone, but find I dont use octave too much cause..well, it sounds like an OCTAVE pedal engaged (insane?...well, not if you know me )...and as far as vibrato goes, I have it on my Fender DR, and it's a pretty good vibrato generally speaking...trad. chorus effect is not something I'm too keen on generally, so I sold my Boss DC-2 and got a cheaper Maxon cs505, but I find I just dont use if very often and then, usually to highlight a sustained note/chord..)so I will check out the voodoo lab micro vibe. Their stuff doesnt get alot of 'price' respect on EBay...anyway, I imagine you keep it on your Taikonaut board tho, so...we'll see. ========================= man, I got a vicious hankering for Cole St pannicakies right now!
