How can one feel superior for believing in a fairy tale, virgin birth, etc.?

Wishful thinking does wonders...It keeps people alive sometimes.

I have to admit.I kind of believe in Divine intervention.Things in life happen sometime that you just can't exsplain.I find it quite interesting.

Religion is for those who have no trust in their own common sense. Or for those who need an excuse for being losers.

It was also always a pretty good setup to keep the masses quiet!

So basically what everyone is saying is that there is no real or compelling reason that I should.

I don't fear death. I don't believe in a heaven or a hell. I am comfortable with the fact that the universe is uncertain and shit happens. I believe it's best to conduct one's self in a reasonably moral way while one is alive. Plus if I don't believe in a religion, I am free from any manipulation from others that would coopt my faith for their own selfish purposes.

So unless I'm missing something, there's no real reason to believe in any particular faith, it's prophets or it's god(s) as far as I can tell.

Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?

I also think that people like to think that

those who do evil deeds will be punished in the

afterlife. . .instead of just getting away with

it . . .basically. Kind of sad when you think

about it that I could kill someone and then

go about my life. . .maybe never get caught and

I took someone elses life. . .with no
