They may have just come to the conclusion that the biz model doesn't support financing a discussion forum. If so, I wish there was a way to mount a muscian's friend boycott. I'd sure have liked the opportunity to grab some email ads and do some goodbyes, before the plug was pulled. The forum went down hill as soon as the buy out happened

I doubt it...HC is a marketing outlet for MF with a built in following...and the backlash from that many musicians being jacked up by MF would not be good business. Plus, worst case, they would sell it back to the original operators at a loss.
