A good friend of mine, who I know from High School, decided to set up a donation, on behalf of Wilco, to their charity of choice, for being so supportive of putting and having their music available online, instead of shying away from it, as many bands/labels have.

The charity that the members of Wilco chose, is Doctors Without Borders (also known as Medecins Sans Frontieres) an organization that helps deliver emergency aid to victims of armed conflicts, epidemics, as well as other natural and manmade disasters.

here is the website designated for this very cool cause. whether or not you choose to donate is entirely up to you, i just wanted to point out a very cool thing a few fans are doing, to show to the music industry, that true fans of music will pay plenty for it, if you put out a good enough product.

it should be noted that this is 100% entirely a fan thing, the only involvment the band had was being asked if it was alright to donate to the charity of their choice in their name. so far, it's only been posted on Via Chicago (www.viachicago.com), and they've already received over $4000. feel free to post wherever you think it would get a well recieved welcome.

p.s. there is no suggested donation really, $5 is just as cool as say $500 (which someone gave the other day!). also, i'd expect a few online music/media news sites to pick up on this in the next week or so.
