...it seems Fender has just released a new version of it's '65 Twin Reverb with a 15 inch speaker...and it's a little cheaper than the regular Twin Reverb because it has only one speaker in it.
I know I will be keeping my eye on e-Bay for them in a few months. |

I know'd I should have bought that Thunderbolt a few years back..but...you know how it goes
I really want a 15 with el34/6550's...thus my thnderbolt woodie..I will keep me eyes peeled for the new fender though...I am wary foof them, btw...I was reading the custom shop vibrolux reverb reviews on HC, and for such an expensive amp... _=__--____-----> www.marcylordsarmy.com "I will pray that you end your heathen and wicked lifestyle." - Marcy Lords, August 1973 |

quote: Yes...but I have no 100 watt (or in this case 85 watt) amps...it's all about the clean headroom. You don't want any poweramp clipping when you use a 15. By the way Oakland...you can always have the Twin rebiased for EL-34's or 6550's. It's not like you're stuck with 6l6's. ------------------------ There once was a man who swallowed a fly... |

if I was to get a 15" cab....both amps I have have dif. ohms ...
8 ohms DR and a 16 ohms gibson... as I recall, you can go UP in ohms, but not DOWN? so I should get a 8 ohm cab, correct? |

I thought it was the other way around . . . the Speaker has to be "More" than the Amp.
Like, if Ohms was weight . . . you wouldn't put a "16 amp" on top of an "8 speaker" - but a "16 Speaker" will carry an "8 amp" just fine (but don't quote me on this, unless you find out that I'm right) that's why I wire all my cabs to 16 Ohms, just plug in anything ------------------------------- The eyes are yours, but you don't own the view |

Damn......for most people, 12" is MORE than enough.
Why am I not surprised that Oakland needs 15" to get to the depths of his bottom end? |
