Like so many of you I often write off rap music as garbage, but I try to keep my mind open. My perception has changed. I got a hold of Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and the second disc is brilliant. It goes from 1930s jazz to "the funk" and gets downright avant garde at moments. Lots of session players tearing it up, less emphasis on synth. This is serious music folks!
