You bought an EBS Multi Comp?

I don't know how they will sound for guitar, but for bass you can't beat them.

Has it arrived yet?

Fuck...and you only paid $100...that's a sweet deal if it's the black label one and it's in good shape.

You see your own taint?...I'm calling a chiropractor!

the mutli-comp is designed for guitar and bass. apparently the lower end response of bass is completely within the spectrum for guitar use as well. I figured it might given the T.E. dual comp is also a bass comp that work well with guitars.

And it fact, it is better than my Guyatone Flip TC-X. I just got it an hour ago, and given I am not very knowing about these compressors, I will only comment on that I know...it is 10x better than the Boss cs-3 I sold. man, that was a LOW and High end clip job! Big Grin

utterly silent, the EBS black multi-comp (small, but it weighs like 5 pounds!) has 3 general settings. I think I like the 'tubeism' setting best, where they emulate a compressed tube amp tonal quality...it has the 'normal' comp setting that comps both the high and lows together, like a standard comp does...and they have a 'mb' setting that allows a blending of relative highs and lows...I think Confused....

there is no manual as such, but a nice brochure that, essentially, says put the multi-comp first! wow, that's a help... (damn swedes!)...oh, it has a side switch for active or passive pu's...a gain knob that is very nice and usable adding a decent amount of that metallic, edgy tone and a knob for comp/limit...the red light pulses when it is compressing the signal.

golly gee...this is an excellent compressor to me. I think I got a keeper for a good price. seems REALLY well made, is clean and noiseless and even an idiot like me can get something useful out of it...wow, I did good for once! Smile

(I'll have to sell some stuff to offset it's cost...)

hey, maybe that Yanni guy on the EBS site can give some pointers?...

(NO SKITTLES! NOT THAT KIND OF POINTER!!! Mad )

I have a manual I can copy for you if you like.

I bought it for the multi-band compression but ended up using the "tubeism" mode as I also like that settign a lot. I also have the EBS OctaBass which is pretty great.
