Freaking GREAT musical.

I could not stop laughing sometimes. Very amusing, amusing jabs at itself, strong plot, strong singers, strong music, well written, just entertaining. Kick-freaking-ass. Best musical I've been to in a while.

The set usage was great, too. costumes were great. Good dance #'s, too.

Oakland, you should TOTALLY see it. You'll enjoy it quite a lot, I think.

do they do any Metallica songs in this musical?...being called Urine Town, I would think their music is very appropriate for such a production...

No they don't, that was the one problem I had. During the big chase sequence at the end of the first act, I was envisioning them playing "Disposable Heroes", but no.... apparently the "director" had some sort of "vision" that didn't include the fire-bottle roar of cranked Marshalls. Pissed me off, but otherwise the writing was strong enough to make you not necessarily fault the direction of that one portion...

Go see it, man. The music was great otherwise (well, as good as it could be considering it wasn't written by Hetfield/Ulrich), and the performing cast all had amazing voices and delivery. The lead also had a f'ing GREAT range.
