so curious how it sounds the super tube one .

btw I traded back that Carvin and got a
Roland ready strat - mexi made but I had to
go with function over form , I have 3 GK2
pickups on guitar and that huge ass connector controller part always bugs me so now its all neat and clean and inside the guitar.
Ya I would rather have a Brian Moore Iguitar but never played one .

Got the strat for 420.00 which was GC's cost on the thing .

That's cool about the Roland ready Fender Strat. The fact that it's a NAFTA-caster isn't so bad. You should definitely get a Dimarzio Fast Track 2 for the bridge sinc you like the heavy stuff (I have one in the bridge of my Tele). Get the series parallel switch installed and you can get stock strat bridge sound without hum and flip the switch and you get super hot humbucking tone with a lot of crunch. It's hotter than most full sized humbuckers.

If you get it, I will give you my Strat's neck and middle position pickups when I change them. They are Dimarzio Virtual Vintage Solo pickups. They look like stock Strat pickups but they sound more like P-90's without the hum. They are great pickups and a good match outputwise with the Fast Track 2.

As for the various pedals you brought over...

The Ibanez Overdrive is OK...it's a little raunchier than a modded TS-9 which isn't so bad. It's a little noisey. I would much rather go with a Keeley Fat Modded BD-2 if you are looking for a really rocking overdrive with a lot of crunch potential. Otherwise, if you are really looking for that traditional TS-9/808 tone, you may want to go with the Analog Man TS-9 mod. If you are looking for more of a modern twist on the TS-9 you might try the Keeley TS-9 mod or the Keeley Baked 3x saturation mod on a TS-9DX. If you have the bucks and want a pedal that does it all...get the FoxRox ZIM...they're $260, but they are awesome and the circuit boards on each channel are designed to be easily unplugged and swapped out with other circuit boards from compressions and clean boosts to overdrives, fuzzes, distortions and treble boosters.

The modded Boss Compressor...That had to be the worst compressor I have ever heard. I would unload that ASAP. They should have labeled that extra knob "bad" and "worse". All it does is turn up the output of the pedal...in a vain attempt to make up for the stock pedal's perceived main shortcoming which is low output when on. The truth is that the pedal's real shortcoming is that it just sounds bad. A very lumpy and humpy seasick sound. Not useful at all.

The Ibanez Compressor on the other hand is pretty damn nice. Good output level. A reasonable noise level and a nice tone. It is great as a compressor and it also drives other pedals nicely. It's not as transparant as a Keeley or an Analog Man Bi-Comp but the coloration that it creates is very musical. In some situations I would actually prefer it over the other two. It also has a nice treble bite that cuts through really well without being harsh or unpleasant. It reminds me a lot of the compression on the Route 66 pedal which is one of my favorite comps. It's a definite keeper. I may have to keep my eye out for one on e-Bay.

The Ibanez E.Q. totally sucks. It is extremely noisey to the point of being unuseable. It is the first E.Q. I have ever come across that actually increases the noise when frequencies are cut. It is to be expected when they are boosted, but not when they are cut. Unload it ASAP if you can.

The Ibanez Delay...It's OK I guess. I have heard a lot better digital delays. Mike Fuller from Fulltone actually has one of these on his board and I can't imagine why. I have played Danelectro delays that actually sounded better and I never really cared for them either. You would be better off with a Boss or better still a Line 6 delay...expecially if you like crazy experimental stuff. I was able to get one or two functional sounds out of it but it's nothing special...you may as well hold on to it or sell some of the other pedals and get a Line 6 delay pedal.

The Ibanez Chorus/Flange pedal was pretty decent. I was able to get some pretty cool Cure-ish chorus tones from it and some Andy Summers style flanging. I think you should hold on to it. Again...the Line 6 Modulation pedal is pretty great (works great with the Line 6 Delay pedal) but if you don't use a lot of chorus, tremolo, phaser, etc. the Line 6 may be overkill.

so you are saying most of X-Guitar's gear is pretty shitty then?

oh Roll Eyes

I hear he looks alot like an older Peter Boyle, only much much shorter and kinda with an exaggerated Tony Danza type personality?....

..least from what Ty's has told me...you know, back when he talked freely of his sex fantasies about the Salty Flavored one.. Smile

No...this is only a small portion of gear he owns...he actually has some pretty cool stuff.

You wouldn't have heard that from me...he is taller than I am. If he wore a bowler he would look much more like Odd Job from the James Bond flicks than Peter Boyle. This is merely a distorted fantasy of yours...unfortunately this one did not involve rubber gloves, mink stoles, gas masks and medium sized butt plugs like like all the others. Roll Eyes

It was really cool. I was getting all kinds of odd sounds from it.

I really liked that Adriene Linn 2 a lot. I will probably pick one up after I pay off the bass.
