Hi...
Our band is called Sunhawk. Our drummer is leaving so we are searching for a NEW DRUMMER! The 3 of us who will remain have been jamming together for 6 months. However, the other guitarist and myself have been playing together off and on for fun for maybe 2 years. All 3 of us are songwriters and sing. Our instruments include: Bass, Guitars, Keyboards, and an awesome Roland Guitar Synth that can sound like tons of instruments. We are dedicated, friendly, fun, talented, patient folks. We currently practice at a house in Putney, VT (near Brattleboro). We have a PA and a really nice digital multitrack recorder that we are using to make demos and soon an album. We have a wide range of musical influences ranging from the Beatles to the Dead to Motown to Marley to The Slip, etc... In other words we play rock, blues, reggae, jazz, funk, folk-rock, and classic rock. We play both covers and originals. We currently don't have a bassist and we don't intend to get one. Instead our keyboardist plays basslines, or on some songs one of the guitarists picks up a bass, or I play basslines on my Roland guitar synth. These methods seem to work as we can fill out the sound and remain tight with just the 3 of us.

Our current drummer is good but he just can't commit the time we'd like him to. We plan to be gigging at least 3 times a month soon. Eventually, we would like to play even more: aiming to go on tour someday. That is the desire of the 3 of us and we would love to find someone who shares that dream. We tend to practice 1-3 times a week because we live close to each other and love to play....but we are willing to work with a drummer who can rehearse once in a while with us and then jam with our CD at home on his/her own time to learn the songs. Whatever works. We just want to get better, play lots of gigs, record albums, have fun, and maybe make a little extra money.

By the way, we have a part-time manager/soundwoman/booking agent/roadie/merchandise seller. She has been around the music scene for years and knows many festival promoters so it looks like we will do some fun outdoor summer gigs. We have good vibes between us so we are looking for the same in a drummer. Why not call yourselves something more original...like Andromeda, Hot Ice or Steel Breeze.

the name "ing" has a nice ring to it, and may be available . . .
