Dear friends of The Girlfriend Experience,

After a little end of the year break for songwriting and the holidays, the GFE is back into the swing of things with some great shows that you're not going to want to miss and other exciting news...so let's jump right into it, shall we?...

TONIGHT (Saturday, January 7th), The Girlfriend Experience performs their first show of 2006 at The Starry Plough (3101 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley, CA). This will be our debut at The Plough as well as being a rare East Bay appearance (not to mention we'll be debuting some of our new material), so come on out tonight and help us rock The Plough like it's never been rocked before. GFE headlines the show with The Bellyachers opening up at 9pm and Imogene (from LA) in the creamy middle. DON'T MISS IT.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd, The Girlfriend Experience makes their much anticipated debut at Cafe Du Nord (2170 Market Street, SF, CA)...this is going to be a great night of music with our dear friends Candy From Strangers as well as Rubber Side Down rounding out the bill. Those of you who caught our last Capitol Corridor Cruise got to witness what a blast a shared GFE/Candy From Strangers bill can be...add Rubber Side Down and Cafe Du Nord to the mix and you're in for a night you won't soon forget...show starts at 9pm...Bring your friends. We'll see you there.

CAPITOL CORRIDOR CRUISE #2 (March 2nd - 4th) The Girlfriend Experience once again marches on our state capitol for Capital Corridor Cruise #2. Details below...

DAY 2: Friday, March 3rd...G Street Pub (228 G Street - Davis, CA) with LA's Tattooed Millionaires and
Bombs for the Bored

DAY 3: Saturday March 4th...The Starry Plough (3101 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley, CA) with Bombs for the Bored and TBD.

IN OTHER NEWS...

The Girlfriend Experience hits the studio in March to finish up their eagerly anticipated full-length album "When In Rome...Do As The Lions". A six week US Tour to support "When In Rome..." is tentatively scheduled for September/October of this year. More information as it develops.

May 2006 The Girlfriend Experience hits the road once again for a 3 week Northwest x Southwest Tour tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 4th through Saturday May 27th with stops in LA, San Diego, Tucson, Flagstaff, Espanola NM, Norman OK, Oklahoma City, Austin, Dallas, Lawrence KS, Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise ID, Seattle, Portland, Eugene, San Jose, Sacramento, Davis and San Francisco. 2006 is shaping up to be a scarlet letter year for The Girlfriend Experience and we're glad to have you along for the ride. We couldn't do this without you and your kind support. Thanks so much for helping to make 2005 an outstanding first year for The GFE. The plot thickens in '06...stay tuned.

Our bay area shows have been really great lately...very big, enthusiastic crowds. We packed the place last night and the response was pretty overwhelming. I think not playing in the bay area as much and playing out of town more has really helped to increase our draw locally when we do play on our home turf.

There were also a lot of local big wigs in the East Bay scene there...there was even a guy who claimed to be from EMI Australia who missed the show but said that he heard a lot of good things about us from his friends he is visiting here.

The opening bands were great too. It's always a real treat for me when the opening bands don't suck.

The highlight of the evening however was when Guitar Porter showed up. He was disappointed you didn't show.

Anyway, fucking great first show of the year...we're playing there again in March...and of course there's our Cafe Du Nord show next month...that's a biggie. Maybe we'll catch you there.
