Why don't you post pictures of yourself?
What I look like is irrelevant. For those who desperately need a physical description: I'm 5'10", 165 lbs, Early 30s, Caucasion, Brown hair, blue eyes, thin with goatee. The music is important. In my opinion, the obsession with "image" has ruined modern popular music, whether it's rock, country, hip hop, etc. Instead of the best and truly talented solo artists and bands rising to the top of the music business, we have talentless "models" who can look pretty in front of the camera, while having his/her musical garbage pushed by major record labels. I blame MTV, VH1 and GAC for the horrible current state of modern popular music and the general public's obsession with "image." I don't consider myself "ugly" and have never been referred to as ugly by others.... I just don't care about what a band or artist looks like and I think others should follow my lead. Example: I didn't know what the band members of Tool looked like until a few years ago. This was after listening to and enjoying their music for over a decade. Image is irrelevant. -- can you name him/her? |

Why do you use Line6 gear and not tube amps?
A POD 2.0 and Bass POD both weigh much less than 20+ tube amps, are less expensive, do not require constant maintenance, do not take up large amounts of space and do not have to be cranked to ridiculous volumes to sound good. However, the biggest reason I use Line6 gear is for the versatility and variety of tones that can be achieved from these devices. Plus, 99% of music listeners could care less if a guitar track was recorded with a tube amp, mic'ed with a Neuman mic through a Neve console... or recorded with a POD directly into a digital audio workstation. Likewise, 99% of music listeners could not tell the difference between a track recorded with a POD and a track recorded with an old fashioned tube amp. "Tube Amp Snob Elitists" as I like to refer to them, should get on with their lives and accept the fact that Line6 and innovative companies like them are here to stay and their "amp modelers" will keep getting better and better as technologies advance. |

WAIT!
it gets even more idiotic Why don't you own any American-made guitars? Because Korea, China, Japan and Mexico make guitars that look, play and sound just as good as American made guitars at a fraction of the cost. I've owned several nice American made guitars in the past: 1989 Fender American Standard Stratocaster with Kahler tremolo; 1992 Gibson Les Paul Studio with ebony fretboard and gold hardware; Carvin LB75 bass. Back in the 80's and even throughout the 90's... American guitars were clearly the best made, but that gap has closed over the past few years. Why pay $1,500 for a Gibson ES semi-hollow guitar when you have an Ibanez Artcore for $300 that plays and sounds just as good? Also, there is little to no difference between a Mexican Fender Strat and an American Fender Strat. |

You're making fun of Shai Halud, no doubt, but he is way cooler than you'll ever be, even though he's a little nutz when it comes to gear.
