now I remember you saying you thought the 4210's - 20th ann. marshall "sucked Newsom's scrotal package" in terms of it's "Crate emulating distortion" and "Pignose EQ capabilities" and seemed to be in that "all oppressive black color" that often "brought you down to the dumps of suicidal conceptions"?
I am thinking I mostly remembered correctly...others have mentioned the EQ being designed to engage prior post pre-amp, and thus it channel 2 sculptability is lacking in EQ terms...okay, then here's the ??? -- how much EQ shaping is done at the amp (in the crew's vast exp.) and could effective EQ be accomplished/bettered with an excellent EQ pedal at the pedalchain end?... --- anyone with insights or just wanna poke me with a hot fire stick, please do. thanks.
*kicks Ty doll because he Marshallized my amps GAS*

Yes, it does seem to have the eq earlier in the preamp than earlier Marshall amps. You may notice that the master volume on the 4210 is located after the phase inverter, also a departure from traditional Marshall design and, in some folks' opinions, a good idea in theory. I'm sure I could have worked with the amp more, but the clean channel always sounded dull and lifeless to me, the distortion was alright (more gain than previous Marshalls due to diode clipping) but kinda icepicky bright and the reverb knob should've been labelled "mud".
Just axe the ass kiss
