Sleep with ten women, fifteen guys, and three pigs for variety, wake up and eat breakfast with all of them, and live happily ever after and the government doesn't have any specific laws against that (well, bestiality might be kinda pushing the envelope).

But you were talking about marriage. Marriage involves this thing called a "marriage certificate". This "marriage certificate" is issued by an institution known as a "government". This "government" did not go to your bedroom and tell you to fill form 5150 out which allows you to keep livestock in your house. You went to the government.
