He programmed the drums using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9. His soundcard is a Creative Labs Audigy 1 and uses SoundFonts. There is a 128Mb soundfont which He downloaded and used for this tune. He recorded an audio version of Cakewalk playing the drum pattern using CoolEdit and carefully positioned it in CoolEdit so it was as close as he could get to CoolEdit's metronome. After BWB's initial feedback that the toms were too loud, he painstakingly edited the volume envelope so that the rolls were quieter than the rest of the track. He's sure some compression was used, but he doesn't remember the settings. He also might have sweetened them up with a bit of reverb.
