I was gonna say something but I was too embarrased to bring it up. Frown

I thought..."Well he's the artist...maybe he's going for some sort of ethnic or pan-cultural dialect of the English language...or maybe it's some sort of 'new beat' thing the kids are doing these days".

At least you didn't try to rhyme "orange" with "syringe" or try to use the word "befuddled" in your song. Mad

It makes perfect poetic sense, you people have no appreciation Mad

"she danced for dozens other than him" is the meaning, and makes the line more specific to *ango.

It also relates to the idea that these dozens of men each saw themselves as the particular focus of her attention: at that instant, as she danced - they saw themselves not as one of dozens. There may have been "dozens other" than him too, but he also did not despair (though for a different reason than *ango)

lastly, it's the kind of clever, insightful and multi-dimensional lyrcal twist that separates the Dylans from the Nugents Big Grin

are you sure that him (and the "dozens other" like hin) really did not despair? . . . why else would they be there watching her dance if they didn't? *ango was different than the others (maybe . . .)

good art always stirs debate Big Grin

You reached so far with that one that you should have said "excuse me" first. Big Grin

I like "dozens other"... I will start using it. It reminds me of "passersby".

You know what word I've heard too much in the past few days? Well not too much, but an inordinately large number of times (3)... "egomaniacal".

Also, two other words I've learned in the last week:

defenestration - a throwing of a person or thing out of a window

prognostication - an indication in advance

Prognostication would be a good name for a modern prog rock band. Or maybe the sneakier "foretoken"... eventually people would realize that prognostication is foretoken and be like, "wow... those guys are deep... and their drummer rules".

You were conversing with yourself earlier in the thread...it's best not to argue with a crazy person. Big Grin
