Must be your particular amp. I know plenty of folks who use them and other amps from that period and they don't have half the problems you seem to be having with yours.

That being said...which boutique Marshall clone are you considering and what model Marshall are you thinking of having cloned?

Well, my amp got used A LOT before I bought it, and it is a very cool amp, but the distortion isn't my deal


for the clone.......I was thinking a plexi kind of thing

I like how angus have a very, punchy sustaining lead sound with the volume only at about 6. I'm not sure what amp clapton was using, but I really dig his cream era tone on "spoonful"
