It arrived today and I took it to Taikonaut practice tonight.

It's the best of the Fender reissue series amps by far. With the Super I was able to get one tone I was happy with, but with the Twin there were WAY more tonal options than I had imagined. I spent hours tweaking it and getting great results with over a dozen different tone knob combinations It also had a much wider range of useable volume than I had imagined too. It also seems better built than the Super was (and it's about twice as heavy...OH MY DISKS!!!)

Fender did a really great job on this particular reissue. I am much happier with it than I was the Super. I can't believe I didn't consider it sooner. It's gonna sound kick ass with my JCM-800 2x12 combo.

It's funny...I started out using Twins when I first began seriously playing guitar 18 years ago, and now I'm back to using them again (with Marshalls of course...the Twin is really versatile, but it can't do EVERYTHING).

Dude...you liked my JCM-800, right? And ever since you heard it you have been on this Marshall kick.

Then just get one exactly like the one you know you like and stop dicking around with the whole "one speaker" this and "two channel" that. That's when people start getting into trouble with their gear purchases...they over think them.

Trust me, you will be much happier if you just go with what you know. You know your gear and you have good ears, just get what you know you already like and be done with it.

If you really like a single channel, 2x12, 6550 equipped Marshall JCM-800 combo then simply get one and stop settling for less. Marshalls are fussy...you fuck with the tone recipe too much and you end up with something you won't like.

I may just buy another jcm800 anyway as I know they are gonna only go up in value...

I am hoping Marshall issues a RIEek..then
those originals will GO THRU THE ROOF!!!Big Grin
