I don't know what the DAW talk has to do with this... I don't remember anybody saying this has to do with their DAW. I'm just saying that on your average consumer machine, iTunes is not going to make a difference (when not running) so large that it will be noticable. This is just my hypothesis.

No, I don't think that critical audio configurations should have up to 40-50 services each with their own fancy time to execute code. And I do have a real fucking daw (unless your definition of a real fucking daw is different than mine), and I don't have iTunes on it. Nor do I use IE on it, or any adobe services, or real player. What stats do you want me to post?
