I didn't have the extra $$$ right now to buy another small clone, so I bought this 90's FX65 pedal for $20 for kicks.

This thing is actually pretty good ! I like it better than the boss choruses I've owned in the past.

My fav DOD pedal was the FX90(i think) analog delay I had awhile back during my pedal days. I may get another soon. Also, I had an 80's DOD dual delay that I would give my right nut for to get it back...they are ultra rare....I didn't know it at the time.

The worst DOD's are the distortion pedals...never EVER found one I liked.

I am currently lacking any DOD info to relay....

--- it is nice when a $20 pedal satisfies where others need a $225 pedal (Ty)...
Confused

...I WILL find you that rare DOD IF...IF...you forward me your "right nut"...FACT! Smile

My $30 Guyatone chorus was easily on par with chorus pedals costing up to 5 times as much. A pedal doesn't have to be expensive...it just has to sound good. In fact I plan to pick up a used Voodoo Labs chorus soon (you can pick them up used for $65-$100 on e-Bay).

I've played those DOD choruses (the analog and the digital ones)...to be honest, if it was my only alternative, I would simply not use chorus.

You should definitely get one though. Big Grin

Oh...and Oakland, if you really must have a DOD FX65 Chorus, I have one here on my desk that is being used as a paperweight that you can have...seriously. It works and is in good shape.

Since a $20 pedal will make you happy over a $225 pedal, maybe you can trade me your Maxon chorus for it. Big Grin

I used a Dodd envelope filter with my bass guitar a while ago, it was pretty good, though not the best by any means.

They're OK. Good for noise and lo-fi stuff...other than that they kinda suck.

I've got a broken one that you can have. You may be able to fix it.

Has anyone here used the Akai 'Intelliphase' pedal?

They're on sale at one of the guitar stores in the city centre for a supa-low price and so I was thinking of getting one.
I may get one just to shove up my ass.

You should get one...all that Akai stuff is OK for the money. Be sure to get a can of EZ-Off oven cleaner if you are going to insert it rectally. You don't want it to lose it's resale value due to caked-on poo.

Cool, I'll get my hands on one asap. I already own a Headrush Delay pedal which is pretty decent.

I usually take a mega-dump before ramming music gear up my dirt-box, so I don't think I'll be needing the EZ-Off . . . a bit of soap and water will do just fine. Smile

I never said 'I' was happy with DOD stuff...I only know it from the few times I bothered to demo them at GC long ago. Hey, they make them with pretty cool colors I noted...lot of knobs too, so maybe I was just intimidated...Frown

now, I will trade the maxon you crave for your analogmean chorus? ALSO-- I will include a power supply for free.
good deal Ty - these maxon's are NLMEek

What I look for in a pedal is...

Ease of use(cant be 2 complicated 4 my small brain)
Low noise, even with a high gain amp
And of course the effect has to do it's job.

The FX65 does all these for me. Granted it's not the best chorus I've ever heard, but for $20 it's a good buy. Eventually I'll get another small clone, and rewire that fugger so it has an adjustable sweep like analogmans.
