Did you put two sections together and overlap? It might be you have something turned up to high...Sometime if you find where it's happening on the wave you can take it out with the volume editing most editers have...

I opened a new session. Inserted a backing track. But while the vocal track is low in volume, it still pops when I mix down but otherwise it never pops when I'm recording and during playback. Does that make sense?

Check your input level that your feeding your computer.Sounds like you have your PC's input volume to high.

Yeah the input was a little high. This was on a track I recorded with my old mic so the input was always high just to get a good signal. I don't have that problem with my new mic. My question is how do I get the pops out of the old track I recorded. I don't know what to set the pops and click editor to. I know this is hard to explain, especially if you have not used cool edit. I guess I'll just record it again with my new mic, I just liked that old track and wanted to fix it. Oh well.

yes, you have to set your imput levels at the soundcard mixer software, or pc mixer software level as CE doesn't have an imput vol. control (ie no gain control)( dumbasses )
Jeff, I need to return your books on CE and ACID too -- I havent forgot - just thoughtless of me...sorry.

Grathias, Is that the same as changing the mic level in the volume properties?
