there can be no mistake -- this is a SLO without all the bells and whistles draggin' down sweet tube tone

I had owned a Univox U45B...sort of a unbiquitous offering for almost a decade by Univox (the 6x4 rectifier and 6mb6(??) power tubes and a tremelo that NEVER works on ANY of the models)

I think this is a step up given the usage of a 6v6, and it's requisite power needs...the cab looks to be better too...I guess Westbury (who made later Univoxs) copped this design from the Fender Champ...

I saw that...and thought...seriously about getting it..but then, I know it's just a

repackaged U45B...tho FAR nicer looking than most of that series...

they have a rather roundish sound to the PT distortion, and are a tad hissy. they do admirable mid 60's classic rock and blues based stuff..no gain at all, btw..tried different tubes with it - didnt seem to matter much tho..they get real hot too...most of them have a particle board baffle, but a pine/ply cab...the jensen is nothing to right home about..the 'special design' ..and natch, the tremelo dont work...

I think your cacadian blue krimple sounds better - cleaner, punchier, quieter, tighter tone...and it has that Beltone QUALITY for a LIFETIME of enjoyment
