Anyone here have some insight,
My monitor shakes, and my cpu Fan changes pace since making the move to the upstairs office. All signs point to power issues, or possible radio interference. Would one of those cheep azz Furman 15 amp conditioners fix this stuff? Could I plug PC+Monitor+other gear and expect it to handle the loads? Typo ---- |

What's the difference between a power sag and brownout? What can I do about them?
Both are dips in voltage. A power sag is shorter in duration, and is usually caused by local conditions such as a sudden current inrush when equipment is switched on. Sags are common with generator power as well. Brownouts are longer, lasting up to several hours, and are usually caused by failures in the electric utility system, or by very high system demand due to extreme weather conditions. Sags and brownouts can degrade performance of audio equipment, cause erratic performance, or cause a unit to cease functioning completely. Protection against sags and brownouts is provided by voltage regulator such as the Furman AR Series. |
