Howdy!

It sounds like an AC-30 to me... But that's affected by the fact that the Beatles were Vox fans... I'm speaking of the rhythm tone, specifically... Am I right? Wrong? Insane?

I agree with you. I read that McCartney played taxman through a Vox AC-30.Thought I read he used his 64 Epiphone hollowbody(bigsby).

The lead was played by Paul using the hollowbody. The rhythm tracks were most likely played by George or John using one of their axes.
