on the no quater album/dvd it shows him with an ovation...if there is a classic version i have not heard it for some reason and dont know if he was using electric or not, not exactly sure how he runs his acoustic guitars either...

Footage from the Knebworth concert in '79 shows Jimmy playing his Les Paul, can't tell you what effects, but sounds like alot of flanger. I also read somewhere thats its double tracked in two octaves, so an octave pedal could be useful.
