If I'm not mistaken, I believe Jeff used the same thing as his live rig... A 70's Fender Telecaster into a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier combo... His clean sound is the neck pickup of the guitar, obviously... Just be sure to roll the tone off a bit... I can't spot many effects on that album at all... It's incredible, though... One of my favorites of the 90's...

By the way, Grace used a Fender Vibroverb Reissue on Jeff's guitars, and an 80's tele that was borrowed. The Mesa was used for mostly live shows in tandem with the vibroverb.

He used an Alesis Quadraverb too.

other stuff:

12 string acoustic guild on so real
black beauty les paul on dream brother and eternal life
the cream tele on most other songs.
also, an ibanez talman for some live stuff

the quadraverb was used for spacey type sections and a pitch detune sound in "so real".
