Hey,
I saw U2 perform beautiful day, live on TV. The edge uses some kind of looping device to play the rhythm parts to back himself up while he solos. He nailed all of the parts just like on the recording. How does he do it?

My guess is that he's playing over samples of the actual tracks from the record.

I do a similar thing live. I use a Boss SP-303 sampler with guitar parts and various loops that I trigger from a MIDI footswitch and play over.

Or find a backing track somewhere online. I've got a couple that are pretty solid.

or maybe he's using 2 different amps. One with a delay set in echo mod for the rythm part, and one amp for the solos, like gilmour, but i don't really know
