What's a good phaser that can recreate the phase tone in Breathe? I fucking love how the phasing sounds on that record.

Isn't that a Univibe? Try a Voodoo Labs Microvibe if you want to get away on the cheap.

Hi

It is a Univibe that Gilmour uses. There are alot of good Univibe clones out right now.

A phase90 will kinda work.. but won't really "nail" that sound.

Gilmore told me he used a univibe. there were some post trax alterations done, but that's a univibe mostly. flanger approach is flawed.

sorry I'm late on this one but I've just joined the forum. I can nail the "Breathe" sound using: clean amp > compressor > Option 5 Destination Rotation (on slow ramp setting) and slighjt analogue delay (Boss dd20) (tap temp to song). Good luck.

Yeah, David Gilmour called me up the other day. He said he figured you'd be asking this. He said to reach Bob Sweet.

Hi,

That's what he uses live. I don't think there were any Boss or TC products used when DSOTM was recorded.

I agree with F1sh here: I think it was a Leslie.

Hi,

David himself has said before that it was a Uni-Vibe. He had Phil Taylor build one into a rack unit for him. He still uses it in his live rack. You can hear the "warble" of the Uni-Vibe, compared to the "swirl" and "spin" of the Leslie. You can hear the leslie on "Any Colour you Like".
