There is a sound affect that mark tremonti makes in the beginning of "What If", by Creed. I know that you palm mute, on the third fret, but I cant get the Harmonics to sound right. Any ideas??

what part of the fret are you doing the harmonic on? Just an Idea, but it sounds like he is doing it in the middle of the fret, or maybe a little back. Harmonics are so fuckin tricky thing sometimes. I know that I've done a few on recordings, and then had trouble live replicating it. Could be the placement, could be I had a different distortion pedal on, could be I had too many PBR's, ya never know.

Im doing it on the last string only. I have a DDSS distortion overdrive and a Ibanez green machine on. thanks for your help though
