I cant remember the exact songs but the guitarist for Queen made some really weird sounds like they were from outerspace. Can you tell me how he did it?

Can't be positive since we're not talking about a specific song but , I know he used multiple echo plexes' , phasers , and occasionally a wah .

Brian May probably did alot of weird sounds, like on "Another one Bites the Dust" with feedback and tape echo repeat manipulation. (Just twist those knobs...) My favorite technique of his would be a long delay setting and then when he harmonizes his playing with the repeats. I usually come up with a little lick then transpose it down a fourth or third and it sounds pretty sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Check out Brighton Rock for some incredible playing( not to mention vocal harmonies).

Brian May's main "effect" was overdubbing his guitar onto multiple tracks and creating harmonies that way (this was before harmonizers were available, which is probably the easiest way of simulating his sound - unless you have a 24 track tape machine, of course).

this is probably not what you're talking about but part of Brian May's unique tone comes from his homemade 'Red Special' guitar. I believe the frets are actually sewing needles
