Well, since no one has posted here yet, I'll be the first.

MARSHALL JCM2000 DSL Head.

Overall Rating: Just about the Worst Head I've ever played through.

OK. Now, I don't totally want to knock all Marshall stuff, but there's no reason that an amp that costs this much can sound THIS bad.

The cleans, all across the board, are dull and lifeless and have an odd quality to them. The sign of a bad clean channel is one that will make a beautiful, quality botique overdrive pedal sound bad. Thats the case here. You name it; Fulldrive, Barber LTD, Shannon OD, they all sound bad through this clean channel. The crunch sounds are papery. And the lead sounds are fuzzy and mushy and totally lacking of any articulation at all. The EQ section is voiced so bad, and the controls seem to do next to nothing to fix this.

I guess I'm spoiled cuz I'm playing through a Bogner Shiva EL34 head and 2x12, but seriously, the Bogner is about $1700. The Marshall is around $1250. That's not a huge difference in price. For 27% more cash, you can have 1,000,000% more amp.

Or just get a Boogie Rectifier, set the mode to vintage, and throw in a set of EL34s. Nu-Metal-y? Not at all. Sounds SO much better than the MArshall.

Anyway. Hate to bash this amp, but it's a real stinker.

Feel free to disagree.
