i'll chime in- i have a 1996 superclub 38
2x12 combo, ser. # 00372 in light brown & the grill cloth is kind of like the cane-type on the
hardwood mesa boogies.the 2x12's are the naylor
special design 50's.& a master volume that works! doesn't kill the tone.it's funny you brought up naylors @ this time.as much as i love it,it was more aggressive than what i was playing,so it sat unplayed alot.too marshall-y.
i started playing it again alot since the spring
& will get plenty of use now.i was thinking of selling it a couple of years ago, since it wasn't
being used-i'm glad i held on.if my new band works out,it will be the main amp.kind of a cross between an ac-30 & a bluesbreaker.i am
really digging mine!

Wow I finally found another owner.

I have the 1x12 older style 38, cream with brown grill cloth. It is such versatile amp.

What are your secret settings? Smile

dude,if i tell ya they won't be secret!
all jokes aside,i have a nice amp collection.
so,i am using the naylor for the heavier marshall tones it gets.it is a versatile amp,but
it is amazing cranked up.i'm still getting
reaquainted with it,but man is it sweet.
selling it would have been a major bone-headed
move!

I am a bonehead. I sold my Superdrive 60 head and matching 2X12 about 5 years ago.
It was a great amp but I was not in a band at the time and had no use for three amps.

I still miss that amp, so does my singer.

Here's my million $ question....aside from being flat out lucky on ebay or HC, where can I find a Naylor amp???

I located one awhile back but couldn't purchase it(superclub 38) and I've found a online store in TX that has a couple of combos. I'd prefer a head version of a superdrive 60.

**note, I've yet to email Naylor directly

That's not quite correct. Joe Naylor had a partner in Naylor Amps back in the 1990s. They had a falling out, and Joe got squeezed out of the picture (he subsequently started Reverend). David King bought the Naylor name and designs from Joe's partner in 1999. I was just out at Joe's shop the other day and asked him about the Texas Naylors. He was not very talkative on the subject, understandably so.

BTW, I am also the proud owner of an original Naylor Super Club 38 1x12, blond with brown grille (serial #45). I love that amp. Killer drive tones and a pretty fair Fenderish tone on the low input channel. Great piece of Detroit rock history--though the Reverend stuff is really top-notch, too. Joe's All-Tone speakers are the kitten's whip.

Give me great tone or give me deaf!
