Hi
I am seriously thinking of getting a Fuchs Overdrive Supreme allthough it's a costly amp.
My gear now is somewhat SRV inspired and is :
Fender SRV sign strat '93
Ibanez TS9 (modded to 808 specs)
Vox wah 847
Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb (brown tolex)
I love this setup but the Vibrolux really requires some volume to get the output tubes to overdrive.
After seeing the videos with Eddie Berman and Jason Barker I think I finally have found the sound I have been looking for.
I am in doubt of which Fuchs to go for :
Either an ODS30 or an ODS50.
If I am to go for an ODS50 it might be niv´ce to have it modded to a 50/100.
- Does both the ODS30 and ODS50 have the ability to deliver a warm and crispy overdrive at "bedroom" levels ?
- Does an ODS50/100 in 50 mode sound just like an ODS50 ?
I am thinking of getting a 2 x 12 cabinet (maybe a THD)
- What is the best suitable cabinet for an ODS30 og 50 with 2 x 12 speakers.

greetings

Carsten (Denmark)

I don't know the answers to your questions. But I see a LOT of people buy amps WAY too powerful for their purposes. Be honest with yourself, and decide if you are going to play out. If you want a bedroom amp, you should get a bedroom amp. You will be MUCH HAPPIER. I get my best deals buying amps from people who got more than they need. When they re-sell their amps, they lose quite a bit. I get a GREAT deal.

I have just ordered a Fuchs 50 Watt ODS SLX from Cory @ American Guitar Boutique at a great price!

Although, it appeared the 30 watt would have been fine for my needs, I decided on the 50 watt for the additional headroom.

I have been told current amp orders take up to 6 weeks for delivery.

From the research I have done, it appears this is the amp I have been searching for. My only concern is that it is an expensive amp, and I have not had the opportunity to try one before buying one. I have not seen any Fuchs amps anywhere in Maine where I live.

I am purchasing strictly on the sound clips I have listened to and articles and reviews I have read online about Fuchs products.

Aren't you near the MUSICTOYZ store? Look at the MUSICTOYZ homepage. They are opening their amp room, etc. They carry FUCHS! You could try them at the store, right next to many other brands. Side by side. I live all the way down in Arkansas, and WISH I could go to a local store that is half as cool as the one you now have access to. Big Grin

Yes! I am aware of this, and wanted to buy locally, however, they currently only have 2x10 30 watt combo in stock.

I have been told that the 50 watt 1x12 combo sounds much different.
