I know a guys who is selling a Bad Cat Black Cat 2x12 combo for $2100. This is basically the DC-30 that I've been gassing for since the beginning.
It's looking like the String Master might be going bye-bye really soon. I love the amp, but I really don't use it and I know that the Bad Cat would be used for sure.
I'm not sure if I want you guys to talk me out of it or not.

Sorta sad but if you are going to sell a Budda for a Bad Cat, then you are making a good choice. I love Budda and have for years but Bad Vat is just as great.
If you don't play the Budda and will play the Bad cat then that is all that matters. Hopefully the Budda will get a good home and will be played.

I've had time to think it over. If it was me, I WOULDN'T part with the Stringmaster--my point, you say? Where else are you going to find one? I know the Bad Cat/Matchless stuff is hot and awesome sounding, blah, blah, I wouldn't mind one either!! You can retube the Stringmaster for almost on $$$ and NO the Twinmaster doesn't sound the same as the SM. In the same family yes, but sonically a good bit different. (I have both). I know we are all gear junkies here and we want the best. You won't have a problem selling the Stringmaster, I just hope you don't regret it later. I've only regretted selling one amp--of all the boutique stuff I have/have had it was a Marshall. A clean '72 Super Lead--it was just a REALLY good one--Eric Johnson in a box--me and a friend spent 5 hours one day trying to make it SOUND BAD!! I sold it a year later and miss it terribly--didn't even really make any money on the deal. Take a piece of paper and WRITE out the pros and cons of both amps--it may help. Good luck bro!!

I was checking out amps yesterday.
There was a much better player also checking out all the amps - high end stuff at this store - including a couple Bad Cat's. They do sound incredible - even the 100 watt amp, which is not class A.

Congrats on being able to get the amp of yer dreams. Obviously the Bad Cat is a very nice amp and you'll not regret getting it, but I'd think twice before selling the Budda. You also state you're not sure if we should talk you out of it, which to me sorta suggests I/we should

My advice would be to try to postpone the sale of your Budda until you've played the Bad Cat for a while. In that case it's easier to consider the sale of the Stringmaster without too much bias. I am actually doing this with my guitars right now: I got an Epi Elite Riviera on a one year interest-free loan, and may or may not sell one of my other guitars (casino, ES335) for it.

Don't rush these sort of decisions 'cause it's probably easy to sell, but you'll have plenty of trouble getting another Stringmaster should you feel sorry afterwards.
