I't been a long while since I've been here but I just got a new toy in and it's so sweet I just had to share, hope you guys don't mind a review

This amp was crafted in July – August 2003 and is the first Dual Classic 1X12 Fargen has ever built. Please understand I have been an amp Nazi for as long as I remember and in all that time have been looking for that "one" amp that will cover all the bases (a.k.a. Fender/VOX/Marshall), finally one day recently I realized, "no such animal, never was, never will be, what a waste of time it’s been looking!" Every builder that claims they make such a thing is lying, stupid... or... ummm deaf. That was Epiphany #1.

Epiphany #2 I need three or four amps that’ll do one trick extremely well... then I’ll have ALL the tones I was looking for; there was no other way to do Fender/VOX/Marshall... Also A/B/y switching means between or with 2 - 3 amps playing at the same time... that's a sonic trajectory I was eager to explore.

Epiphany #3 Fender really has only two sounds worth tweaking with, Tweed and BlackFace D, that meant an Allen und a Clark............ ummm or a Fargen... I chose the Fargen, I chose wisely.

Though only one channel the DualClassic has two separate preamps that work independent of each other, one voiced Tweed, the other BlackFace... oh yeah, and a stellar master reverb for both channels. Switching via A/B/y switch (http://www.loooper.com/ABY.html).

This means you can play both sides simultaneously with a stereo guitar cord, or two guitars at once, each voiced differently...

Now this is my 35th or 36th amp, and I don’t mean 35 or 36 Peaveys either. Ok I've had a few of Peavey’s but that was a long while ago and not the point. This amp replaced a Top Hat (that I loved) and a Bogner (that I liked). Which replaced so many other big (and small) boutique boxes I frankly don’t know how I have any money left in the bank at all... the truth is I was obsessed. I needed that perfect amp. The Z’s, the Budda’s, the Guytron, the Egnator, the Tone King's, the Carlson, the Bogner’s, all I had hoped would quench my hunger for that perfect tone; none ever did. Almost from day one they ALL left me wanting another amp, (though that took a month with my Top Hat). Nothing I have ever bought sated that tone hunt the way this Fargen did. 10 minutes in and I was thrilled, this is the Telos of Fender tone. The sounds it puts out are biblical. It’s painful, even depressing to turn it off and stop playing. Know this; the phrase "I’ll stop playing in 10 minutes honey" with this amp is a lie. You will play until your fingers bleed, until it feels like a drug, until the sun begins to crest the hills and the morning catches you before you’ve had a chance to sleep the night before. The night I got it I played from 4pm to 2:34am and that ON AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR!

And about noise, there isn't any, the amp is COMPLETELY silent! It’s freaky! No pop when you pull out the guitar cable, I mean NOTHING, not even an increased hum, even with florescent lights in the circuit, I’m telling you its X-files weird. ALL tube amps make noise... EXCEPT this one.

AND Ben Fargen would book a flight by helicopter while suffering with diarrhea and wearing a colostomy bag to change a tube for a customer. I chose config, the color, the piping, the grill cloth, the screws, the corners, the voicing, and Ben smiled gaves expert advice and built the ideal amp.

Then he emailed pics of the chassis in process, called with sound clips on the answering machine, returned emails, returned calls, and acts like an 'everyman' Unbelievable!

If there is an up and comer, a next Ken Fisher or Doc Z it's gotta be Ben. Having him build an amp is like ordering a Stradivarius and having the builder call you up and say, "hey dude how do you like that fiddle"

This is the BEST amp I have ever owned, my first ever keeper. God it's about time!
