hey guys, check this out, i have a early USA pro jr. in tweed. ive been toying with the idea of the "laquered" look that they used to do in the 50's. anyone have anu idea as to the best way to laquer it? would you just brush it on, or spray it? what would be the best stuff to use? thanks in advance.

I lacquered a Tweed Pro Jr. a few years ago. I used Minwax Polyshades honey pine. Just lightly sand it between coats & you are done. I put on 4 coats..the more coats the darker it gets. I used a foam brush.

what grit sandpaper did you use? all they had at the local home depot was the minwax honey pine in a satin gloss, so i picked that up, along with some foam brushes...but what grit paper do you reccomend? is it a light sand or?? i just want it to come out good....i love this little amp...

Satin finish is OK. Just sand it very, very lightly between coats with very fine paper or you could even use steel wool lightly as well. Apply the coats very thin , otherwise it will be "blotchy" and uneven.

One more thing...take your amp apart before you lacquer it for a more pro look. Take your time and it will look great.
