I'm planning on getting a Gibson ES-325, which is loaded with Gibson Mini Humbuckers. However, I want to put a regular humbucker in the neck position to get something a bit more punchy.
I was looking at the Burstbucker 1. However I'm worried that the output between this and the bridge mini are going to be dramatically different. So does anyone know what the output of the Gibson Mini Humbucker is like? Would I have a problem with volume drop-off if I put the Burstbucker 1 in the neck? Is there a better combination I should consider? The type of music I play has been described as "jazz-bumming noise rock", and I'm pretty sure the Gibson Minis will cut it for that, but I just figured I'd see if anyone had any experience with these and could offer advice. |

The minibucker has 20-25 % LESS output then a regular humbucker.
It also has the same percentage MORE clarity. They match much better with a P90. |

Hmmm... In that case, are the DiMarzio Hot Minibuckers any good? I don't mind P90s at all, but I already have a guitar with a P90 in the neck, so I'd like to get some different tones out of the ES-325.

For that matter, how are the Seymour Duncan minibuckers?
Although those covers annoy me. I should be able to find replacement ones, though. |
