I have an epi LP that i've replaced pots and stock pups with '57 reissues, but one problem remains. When I do a lot of hard bends during solos, i always throw certain strings out.

What experiences have people had with replacement tuners?? I'm looking for performance obviously.

All advice appreciated!
Shamus

Sperzels! The best! But, you definitelt want locking tuners. I think that you may have to route other holes in the headstock with Sperzels. Check with someone who does tuner replacements. You would probably want to use the same holes and not route new ones.

Thanks for your input. I've been hearing good things about Sperzels. I'll be checking around for good deals on them!

Peace,

You are correct, stock tuners are junk. Schaller makes the right one, a drop in. You'll know you have found the right ones when you see the DOUBLE rings on the tuning key, not the SINGLE ring, like on the stock tuners. Allparts has them in their catalogue.

You probably have the answer. Why is the question so hard?

also, check your nut slots. A common problem is
sticking in the slot, causing the string to not come back to the same pitch.

i'd probably use Sperzel locking tuners, but Grovers & Schallers are good choices as well.

Sick fuzz & cowboy hats.
