Hi guys,

This is my first post.
I need your help

I have a 1982 Gibson ES335 pro with OBL pickups.
I am going to replace the pickups.

I am thinking about going with Lollar imperial or Suhr DSV/SSH.
I play jazz (carlton, benson, montgomery) and blues (robben ford, bb king). I also would like Lynyrd skynyrd n aeromsmith tone (bridge pickup).
What would be the best pickups?

I will also have the 335 refretted.
What are the common frets on a good 335?
I have 6105 frets on my Suhr Standard which I really like....

thank you very much in advance

I've got a '79 that I put Duncan Seth Lovers in. It really sounds great and I can get close to the tones you describe - I have to play the way they do first. The rock sounds out of the bridge pickup have always been surprising to me, even before I changed the pups. I almost always use that guitar when I need to record "LP" bridge pup tone.

Hey,
Thank you guys

Klasaine:
That's interesting...
I do agree. this is my first non-solid body guitar and I am surprised by the rock sounds I can get.
Is your guitar a ES-335 pro?
What were the original pickups?
I took mine to a luthier today. he told me the guitar was from 1980.
Pro used to come with dirty fingers pickups. But I have OBLs (with black plastic covers)...
