HI! I have a Tubeworks amp that makes a crackling sound when I turn volume, gain, treble, mid, bass, etc. knobs. Is this caused by dirty pots? How can I fix the amp?

Thanks,

Dan

Could be dirty pots. With the amp off and unplugged, turn them rapidly back and forth, while spraying Electronics Parts Cleaner into them. Usually there is a small straw to stick into the nozzle of the spray, to focus the spray. You can get the cleaner at Radio Shack, or Wal Mart. You may want to spray cleaner into all of the input jacks, also. They will probably be dirty.
Before doing that, make sure the pre-amp tube (if there is one) is all the way in it's socket. It may have worked itself loose.
Also, when the amp is on, check to see that the tube(s) is burning a nice orange color. If it's really red, or blue, it may be a bad tube.
