I bought this baby a few months back and haven't used it yet, but I think the time has come to give it a try. Anybody have any tube recommendations to get some good crunch out of it?

I've read that these amps are the precursor to the Model T, just w/out the master volume. I've also read that these are fairly clean sounding amps. Is a master volume mod an option? Or, is running it w/ two power tubes instead of four and adjusting the ohmage accordingly safe? I've done it w/ a 100w plexi in the studio and all was well.
