I have a Demeter Tremulator and it has a lot of really nice things about it. I haven't used it for years though because it has a volume boost that drives me nuts. Yes, I know that boost is supposed to compensate for perceived volume loss when the signal is rotating off or down half the time, but it's not what I want. Among other things, it drives my amp into overdrive when I don't want it to, and so on.

I was gonna sell this pedal I don't use, but I tried it out tonight as sort of a send off farewell, and I heard all the good stuff in it that I originally liked -- and the volume boost that still pisses me off. I want this same exact pedal, but sans the volume boost. Either permanent unity gain, or a volume knob where I could set the volume anywhere from unity (or below) up to its slight boost would be fine.

Anyone know how I can do this or pay to get it done? Can anyone point me in the right direction or even give me a lead. I'm not sure where to start.

UGHH! Been down the same road .Eventually went with a SwampThang although the demeter is great . What about putting it in a looper with a resistor (or some circuit) across the switch ? Anyone with ANY knowledge will realize I have no idea what I`m talking about BUT this was suggested to me a while back ......any help out there ?

thanks elvis capelli, that's an interesting idea, and wouldn't involve opening up the pedal and doing electronics work.

A volume pot is just a variable resitor (as I understand it), so what I was thinking was I'd open the Tremulator up and add a small (trimmer style?) volume pot (value, part #?) in the circuit somewhere (where and with what wiring scheme though?), drill a hole in the case (somehow) and have the knob or trimmer on the outside.

I could do it all internally, but I think once you have a volume knob in the circuit, you have to be able to adjust it to match different amp volumes. In other words, I think the 'at home' setting wouldn't match the 'rocking with the band' setting. Is that true, or can i just set it to a 'unity' setting and forget it? In that case, an internal trimmer (or maybe even fixed resistor) would be fine.

Here is what I just got done doing to my Tremulator.

Solder a 39k resistor between the unused ground lug on the output jack and the gray wire lug on the switch. If there is a volume difference, I don't notice it.

My Tremulator has also been modded to true bypass, but this mod should still work because, if I remember correct, the output does disconnect with the original switching scheme, but you never know until you try it. Let me know if you try it and how it works for you.
