I have a '75 Twin Reverb, I want to blackface it, get rid of the push/pull boost and improve it all around, what all can I do?

Don't worry about the pull boost; when it's not on the circuit is the same as if you had removed it.
The Tube Amp Book, and Gerald Weber's Guide to Hip Vintage Amps have "blackfacing" instructions. What I usually do is numero uno change the bias pot back (to actually adjusting the overall bias voltage level rather than balancing the tubes). If you put a 12AX7 in as the inverter tube, you'll get the gain back. But properly biasing the amp is the first step. Also if you have crappy tubes in it, JJ ECC83's in the preamp and Sovtek 6L6WXT's in the power amp will make it sound much better. |

For tubes, I would go with Ei Elite 12ax7, Phillips NOS at7 and TAD 6L6WGB.
Next, if the amp had Oxford or Utah speakers in it, I would replace them with Weber equivalent of Jensen C12N. I cannot recall the model number. |

I have one of those also. To warm up the sound I:
Turn ALL tone controls to 0. Turn both master and preamp volume to 7-10. Raise tone controls to raise volume. |
