Hi all, glad I found this board. I'm getting into guitar and amp repair and this'll be a big help.

Anyway, I've got an old Epiphone 12-string at home, I'm not sure of the model number, and I'm at college right now, so I can't look it up. Anyway, it's from the mid/late 70's, and the neck is bent. I'll try to get a picture of the damage, but I'll do my best to describe it. Right at the joint between the neck and body, the neck bends out at what I'd call a severe angle (for a guitar). It sat in its case for probably 20 years with tension on the strings. It's really a beutiful guitar, and I was hoping to get it repaired. I was gonna take it to the old Mel Bay in Kirkwood, MO to have it fixed, but if it's not too complicated, I fell confident in my skills to fix it myself. Anyway, my original thinking was that I could just tighten the trussrod to pull the neck back, but I'm not sure if that would accomplish it. The more I think about it, there could be a lot more damage on the inside to the bracing that I don't know about. What do you guys (and gals) think, is it salvagable? It was my mom's, so I'd hate to see it go the way of the dodo.

Thanks in advance
Ian
