I tightened the spring in the back of my guitar. So that the bridge would be tight against the body. Now, whenever i play the springs will buzz, and it is louder than the actuall music. It is very irritating

If it is a Strat type bridge, then check three things. First, make sure the claw is screwed into yhe wood snugly, but NOT all the way in. Second, look at the bridge saddles. Many times the small springs that hold the saddles in place are rattling around, and need to be replaced. Third, the saddles themselves can rattle from side to side. G&L has a set screw in the saddles, to keep this from happening. Try putting your hand across the saddles, and strumming hard to see if holding the saddles still will cure the rattling.
Also, you should have at least 4 springs if you want to keep the bridge secure. Go ahead and get NEW springs. It's worth the cost. Good luck, and let me know if this helps. |

If it is the springs vibrating and rattling, you can put a piece of smooth cloth, folded up, between the springs and the guitar body. This will dampen the vibration of the springs. I used to use an old dress sock, preferably Gold Toe brand.

I have a PRS type guitar. I am going to get a 4th spring, 'cause I only have 3 on there. The cloth did help. Thanks for the help.
